Directions to Cómpeta from Malaga Airport
There are 3 options to get to Competa – it takes about an hour.
Option 1
Drive yourself in a hire car
Option 2
Arrange for friend Simon to pick you up in the airport carpark & drive you to the door!

Option 1
Either pick up your pre-booked hire car or locate hire companies on arrival:
From Malaga airport take the EASTBOUND road to Malaga.
After approximately 2km follow signs for the E15 MOTRIL ROAD (N340)
Stay on this major road until Junction at 277 km.
Turn off here and follow signs to ALGORROBO, through 2 small roundabouts (MA 103)
Stay climbing on the road through ALGORROBO, SAYALONGA, up to COMPETA (approx 15 km of very winding road)
After entering Competa, take the right hand fork, (heading steeply upwards) which leads up to main car park. (Parking is free, but move car on Friday night for market on Saturday)
As you reach the brow of the slope, the house is situated on the LEFT HAND side of the road, tucked down a little slope.
You can park on the yellow crossed lines by the Tile Shop to unload.

This is what we prefer to do-we suggest that you do this too.
Arrange for Simon to meet you in the airport carpark, bags go in the back & he drives you straight to the door- this takes about 40 minutes or so.

Option 3
Hire a taxi from the many waiting outside the airport - fix the price before you leave, but be aware they will charge about double what Simon charges.

OPTION 2 is recommended.
Especially if you are unfamiliar with driving on the right, winding Spanish roads and Spanish drivers!
It is a relaxing way to start and end your holiday, and well worth the cost.
You can hire a car in the village if you want a car during your stay.
